It was a quick turn around overnight and back at it this morning at the Strand Course at Portstewart Golf Club.
The Strand Course hosted the Irish Open which concluded just 10 days ago where the Spanish Talent Jon Rahm lapped the field shooting 24 under par...Derek, The starter was quite "sure to be sure" that " had the pros been playing in this sort of weather that we had today young Rahm would not have got to 10 under!
A majestic setting on the first tee with the Nth Atlantic Sea off to the right and towering dunes off in the distance.. The front nine navigates its way through some massive dunes providing some very awkward tee shots and approaches to greens especially when it's bit breezy out!
Despite the weather, but with some well earned handicapping both Colm Whyte and Tony Kortegast (pictured) posted 34 points!! Well played lads.
Upon leaving town we stopped off for a wee dram or 3 at the Old Bushmills Distillery. A good day indeed sir.
