(Non) Masters Friday 2020

Today we look back at the 2017 Masters Championship. It was essentially match play between Sergio Garcia and Justin Rose, the two traded birdies around the back nine. In the end it came down to sudden death, Rose and Garcia each missed birdie putts on 18 the first time around. On the 18th once again, after Garcia and Rose each had just missed putts to win, it was Sergio finishing strong. A drive in the fairway and super approach, while Rose found trouble off the tee which gave Garcia all he needed to win his first major, a green jacket at Augusta National.

Two members of our touring party in 2017 were Rotorua based PGA Professional Nick Davey and his brother Gene. You can see Nick below in red giving Sergio the two thumbs up as he celebrates on 18 - A special moment for two brothers.
